Manager

Live-in manager will manage the pub on a day-to-day basis, as licensee, on behalf of the owner. The manager will be required to run the business so as to maximise its profits whilst retaining the ethos of a friendly traditional pub, fulfilling its responsibilities to staff and retaining its reputation as a first class Real Ale venue. The manager will be responsible for purchasing stock within guidelines set by the owner. He or she will be the public figurehead of the pub and must maintain high standards both personally and in all aspects of the operation. Remuneration package will include salary plus a percentage of net profit.

Required: Personal Licence, Driving Licence, experience of management and leadership, strong interest in Real Ale, proven literacy and numeric skills, basic computer skills, good health and ability to move heavy goods and good references confirming honesty and reliability. Also essential is the ability to deal with difficult customers in an appropriate fashion.

Desirable: Catering skills, cellar experience.
