The Business

This well established and profitable business trades mainly on its well kept real ales but also on imported bottled specialies - over 100 stocked. Sales of proprietary keg brands are an important part of turnover but do not dominate.

Sales of food have fluctuated over the years as chefs have come and gone. Its an area that clearly could be developed - especially if the permitted conversion of the garage to a new kitchen were to be pursued. In this event there would be an opportunity to convert the current kitchen into an additional cellar to store and serve real ales by gravity. A new chef was appointed in Feb08 and food sales have substantially increased since then.

Composite beer barrels for 2006/7 has been calculated to be 435 with 400 of this in beer and cider.
